    Alison earned a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University, in Detroit, Michigan in 2009. As part of her graduate work she completed an internship in Health Psychology with Henry Ford Hospital, in Detroit, Michigan. She believes that therapy is an opportunity for individuals to learn and apply a variety of tools to help manage major stressors as well as day to day events. Alison sees herself as a coach or mentor, working with clients to fine tune the skills they need to make their world a place where they are able to feel comfortable. She spends her free time with family, friends, and enjoys volunteering in the community.

    Dr. Wilkinson specializes in Family Medicine. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine. She received her doctor of medicine from the University of California, San Diego. She completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho, where she now serves as the fellowship Director. Dr. Wilkinson runs the sports medicine clinic at Health Services where she treats orthopedic injuries and sports-related medical conditions.

    Danielle graduated from Boise State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Communications. Danielle joined Health Services in August of 2017 as the Administrative Assistant. She has several years of experience in the healthcare field having interned with the health content companies and medical professional associations. Danielle has also volunteered with several local hospitals and health advocating fundraisers.  Danielle is interested in the field of therapy and is currently preparing for graduate school in the future. In her free time, Danielle enjoys reading, writing, art, watching and playing sports, music, and spending quality time with friends and family.

    Matt Niece is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) and a state registered supervisor. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Boise State University, and both a masters of mental health counseling and a doctorate in counselor education and counseling from Idaho State University. Prior to re-joining the team here at University Health Services, Dr. Niece served the communities of Boise, Meridian, and Nampa through work at various counseling agencies. Dr. Niece also maintains a private practice in Boise, and has been adjunct for Boise State University, College of Idaho, College of Western Idaho, and currently with Idaho State University at the undergraduate and masters level. His clinical interests include working with students, faculty and staff who struggle with anxiety and depressive issues especially in regards to relationships and major life transitions, counseling student-athletes, self-worth, LGBT+ issues, and group therapy. Professionally he is driven to advocate for all clients, the counseling profession and the efficacy of integrated health services. Outside of work one might find him taking advantage of the endless outdoor activities that the Boise valley has to offer, wood working, or traveling with his friends and family.

    Penny Rea received her Master’s degree in Nursing from Boise State University in 2016. She became a board certified Adult/ Gerontology Nurse Practitioner in 2017 through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Penny has over 12 years of previous experience in mental health nursing working as a RN at a local hospital. Her practice philosophy is to build partnerships with her patients through advocacy, leadership and holistic medicine. She believes in providing healthcare that will help patients reach their desired health goals and enable healing. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors by horseback riding, boating with her family and skiing the local resorts.

    B.J. earned his Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2011 from Boise State University. He earned his Master of Social Work degree from Boise State University in 2012.  B.J. earned his clinical endorsement in 2016 for the State of Idaho. B.J. has worked at both community and large state based agencies prior to joining University Health Services.  B.J. has experience providing high quality individual and focused group therapy for a broad range of mental health issues to include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, severe and persistent mental illness, mood management, self-esteem, and co-occurring disorders.  B.J. works from an existential and client-centered approach in order to create a therapeutic environment that promotes healing and also fosters emotional resiliency and strength.  When not working, B.J. enjoys spending time with his family and mountain biking.

    Benjamin received his masters in social work from the University of Pittsburgh and  is a licensed social worker in the state of Idaho. During his education he specialized in mental health and worked with individuals suffering from severe and persistent mental illness. In addition, he worked at a university counseling center in Pittsburgh. Benjamin is passionate about working with the collegiate population and supporting people during this exciting, yet sometimes overwhelming period in their lives. He takes a person centered approach to working with clients and aims to meet them where they are at. His favorite part of the job is empowering clients to bring about positive change in their lives and also getting to know individuals from all walks of life. Outside of work he likes to hike in the summer and snowboard in the winter.

    Natalie received her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Washington State University in 2013 and is currently an advanced standing graduate student in the Boise State University School of Social Work, working to earn her Master of Social Work. She has experience working in residential treatment and transitional living programs. She has worked with individuals suffering from disorders such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating disorders and substance abuse. Natalie has previously worked with the Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline as an intern, where she focused on crisis intervention. She enjoys being a part of individual recovery and finds value in the resilience of the human spirit. When not working or engaging in school work, Natalie enjoys hiking, climbing, skiing and being in the outdoors.

    Katelynn was born and raised in Boise Idaho.  She joined Health Services in the Fall of 2015 and has worked in the Medical/Health field for the last 10 years. Her position includes scheduling patient appointments, remedying patient phone calls and her main focus is providing excellent customer service. Her favorite aspect of the job is interacting with all patients and assisting to their needs at Health Services. Prior to her position at Boise State, she worked for a local Home Care Agency in the HR department.  In her spare time, Katelynn enjoys spending time with her Fiancé’ and their puppy as well as extended family and traveling as much as she can.

    Jessica received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Boise State University.  She then went on to earn her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Idaho State University.  Jessica has extensive experience working in the mental health field as a community-based provider.  Her professional interests include working with young adults to help them navigate major life transitions, stress, social concerns, and mental health issues.  Jessica views the relationship between counselor and client as the most important factor in facilitating change and wellness. She strives to provide a safe, open, and supportive environment for every individual she counsels. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and taking advantage of the vast wilderness access and outdoor recreation that Idaho has to offer.

    Kinsey earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Gerontology from the University of Montana in 2014. During that time she completed a social services internship in a residential skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, and volunteered as a hospice bereavement assistant. Kinsey then went on to research for a non-profit agency in Montana and evaluate programs regarding adolescent and young adult substance use. She is currently completing her Master of Social Work at Boise State University and will graduate in spring of 2018. Kinsey has experience working with individuals across the lifespan, and most recently interned as a case manager with an outpatient mental health clinic with a focus on severe and persistent mental health concerns and crisis intervention. She enjoys working with clients to achieve their goals and encourage positive change. In her spare time Kinsey enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and visiting with her friends and family.

    Amy received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology with an emphasis in Ethnic Studies in 2003 from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA. Amy then went on to earn a Masters of Mental Health Counseling in 2010 from Idaho State University. Since 2010, she has worked in private practice, community agencies and the Department of Corrections working with individuals, couples and families. Amy operates from a client-centered theoretical orientation as well as a solution focused/brief counseling modality. Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her two Scottish terriers.

    Anna is currently enrolled in Idaho State University’s Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in Meridian, ID.  Previously, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Experimental Psychology from Central Washington University in 2012 and 2014, respectively.   As a graduate student, she conducted research pertaining to veterans on college campuses, as well as college students’ perceptions of veterans and PTSD on campus.  This research ignited an interest in mental health counseling, where she felt she could have more of a direct impact in the field.  As a counseling trainee, Anna has primarily worked with college students exhibiting a wide range of symptoms and believes that through counseling, clients are able to facilitate meaningful change in their lives.  In her free time, Anna loves traveling, exploring new places and spending time with family and friends.

    Bennett earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Boise State University 2016. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Boise State University in 2017. Bennett is a Licensed Master of Social Work within the State of Idaho. During her education, she worked with the Veteran population through her internships at Idaho State Veteran’s Home and the Boise VA Medical Center. She enjoys working with a range of mental health struggles including; anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use, and persistent/severe mental illness. Bennett works within a generalist approach; however leans towards a cognitive -behavioral and a person-centered modality.   Her favorite part of the job is being able to encourage empowerment and foster resilience with those she works within the Boise State University community. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, with her dog and cat, and attending concerts.

    Kalin is currently completing her final year in the Masters of Mental Health Counseling program at Idaho State University – Meridian. She is expected to earn this degree in May of 2018. Kalin earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a minor in Addiction Studies at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, ID in 2015. Throughout her undergraduate and graduate careers, she has been given the opportunity to intern at many different counseling facilities/agencies throughout Idaho. These experiences have allowed her to grow in her interest and skills surrounding mental health and have only encouraged an increased passion for the counseling field. Kalin is passionate about the importance of self-care and providing balance in life. For her own self-care, Kalin spends her down time with family and friends. She enjoys staying active by running, walking, and biking. She especially enjoys running with her favorite sidekick - her dog, Ruger.

    Barron graduated from Boise State University with a Masters in Health Science in 2014. His degree emphasis is in Health Promotion. Before working at Health Services in 2013, Barron served as a graduate assistant with the Center for the Study of Aging. Barron helped compile data and format the Idaho Alzheimer’s Planning Group's (IAPG) first draft of Idaho's state plan for Alzheimer's disease. Barron is responsible for maintaining patient/client medical records, assisting with customer service and other various projects. He enjoys working in a facility which promotes the well-being of every individual. Barron likes staying active at the gym and visiting with friends at his favorite coffee shops.

    Cara received her Bachelor in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design from Boise State University in 2014.  During her sophomore year she became a promotions intern at University Health Services and has been apart of the promotions and marketing team ever since. Cara is responsible for the graphic design and promotion of all items housed under University Health Services. Her favorite part of the job is the opportunity to be creative and work on a variety of projects daily. In her spare time she enjoys walking her dog, cooking, and thrift shopping.

    Christy is currently working on completing her Bachelor’s degree for Accounting with a minor in Human Resources and Financing at Boise State University. She has four years of experience working in customer service with a variety of different businesses.  Throughout her experience, the focus of her job was on the customer and providing them with an excellent experience. Christy joined University Health Services in the fall of 2015, and her job includes scheduling patient appointments, checking patients’ in and out of their appointment and handling patient phone calls. Her favorite aspect of the job is interacting with all the patients that visit University Health Services. Christy loves paddle boarding, reading, and spending time with her family in her free time.

    Diana received a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Boise State University in 2007. She has over 40 years  of experience working in the accounting field.  Prior to joining University Health Services, Diana worked in various industries including retail, small-medium businesses and the construction industry.  Diana manages the accounting processes for University Health Services, assists with the processing of Insurance Payments, and assists the Business Manager with various projects.  Diana enjoys solving the daily account puzzles that arise, working with her fantastic co-workers as well as visiting with students.  In her spare time, Diana enjoys watercolor painting, scrap booking, sewing, crafts, reading and fishing.

    Holly earned a masters degree in public health from The Ohio State University in 2013 . She previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in Health Promotion from Morehead State University in 2011.  Holly is a Cooper Institute trained Health Coach, as well as a Certified Health Education Specialist. Holly joined University Health Services in 2013, and focuses mainly on coordinating both the employee wellness program and the Peer Health Education program. She enjoys creating opportunities on campus for people to engage in their own health and well being. In her free time, Holly loves to walk her dog, hike new trails, bake, and spend time with her family and friends.

    As Licensed Massage Therapist, Jennifer joined the University Health Services team in Spring of 2016. She specializes in deep tissue, trigger point therapy, acupressure and aromatherapy for pain relief. Jennifer has over 15 years of experience in providing massage therapy. Jennifer's favorite aspect of her job is to provide clients with educational tips that promote health and well being that can be incorporated into their daily routines.  Her personal mantra would definitely be, love life and it will love you back!

    Jennifer earned her Associates Degree from Treasure Valley Community College, and became a registered Medical Assistant certified through American Medical Technologist (AMT) in 2007. Prior to joining University Health Services in 2013, Jennifer worked in a variety of outpatient settings including home care, hospice, internal medicine, urology, urgent care, chronic pain and ear/nose/throat.  Jennifer enjoys working with students, faculty and staff and helping them stay healthy. In her free time, Jennifer can be found fly fishing or painting.

    Dr. Jones obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. Her psychiatry residency was completed at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. In Idaho, she has worked in a wide variety of clinical and educational settings. Dr. Jones joined Health Services as a part time employee in February of 2015, then making the transition to full time in September of 2015. Her professional interests include primary care psychiatry, women’s mental health issues, combining psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy and student health. She believes establishing and nurturing the doctor /patient alliance is vital to providing effective medical care. Dr. Jones works with students and employees to establish obtainable treatment goals. Helping students and employees achieve their best selves is an especially rewarding part of her job. She appreciates the natural beauty of Idaho and the infectious enthusiasm of Bronco football fans.

    John earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. John joined Boise State University in 2010 as the Business Manager. In his current role, he is responsible for providing financial vision and support for University Health Services. Prior to joining the team at Boise State University, John held various finance and supply chain positions in the Boise region, most notably with Ore-Ida Foods and Cott Beverage. In his spare time, John enjoys camping, hiking, photography and golf.

    Julee received her LPN degree and IV Certification in North Dakota and has 35 years of nursing experience in Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Dermatology. She recently moved to Idaho and was lucky enough to obtain a nursing position with Boise State University in Spring of 2016. Julee feels every day is rewarding when you work in health care.  Her favorite aspect of the job is the rewarding feeling she gets when patients come to University Health Services to receive care. She feels it’s a lot of fun to be involved in the lives of the students, faculty and staff at Boise State.  Outside of work Julee enjoys yoga, any outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.

    As part of the leadership team, Julia oversees the clinical flow, processes, and day-to-day operations.  She also oversees Health Services’ regulatory and compliance requirements, and takes the lead on Quality Assurance activities. Julia has a unique background in both nursing and business management. She was the director of a large in-patient cardiac unit in one of Boise’s large health systems.  She also worked as the Practice Administrator of a multi-site nephrology practice for a number of years and managed all aspects of the business and clinical care. Julia is interested in providing each patient with individualized care that meets their own needs.  She believes that Health Services is in a unique position to not only give that level of care, but to also teach the patients about life-long health. Julia has lived in Idaho most of her life and loves the four seasons.  She gravitates to outside activities with her family and friends like running, hiking, and gardening.

    Juni grew up in Idaho and attended Boise State University.  She has lived in multiple states including California, Washington State and North Dakota.  Juni has worked at Boise State University for a number of years in several departments including the Nursing Department before joining University Health Services.  Juni performs various administrative tasks from data entry, placing office supply orders and mail delivery for  various departments.  Juni enjoys people and knows  the importance of a "listening ear". In her free time, Juni enjoys live theater, working on home decor design projects for herself as well as others,  however she prioritizes spending quality time with family.

    Katie earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree through Boise State University's Applied Technology program and graduated with honors in 2007. Katie worked as a nurse in several settings and has worked with a variety of patient populations including adults, children, babies and hospice patients. She joined the University Health Services team in November of 2011, focusing on the patient and their well being. Her favorite aspect of the job is getting to build lasting relationships with each of the students. In her free time, Katie enjoys interacting with her community and spending quality time with family.

    Krista earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Idaho in Recreation and Tourism Management and her Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University in 2008. She then joined the Health Services team here at Boise State in January of 2013. Krista has worked with diverse populations both in the private sector and in the criminal justice system. She has worked in the mental health field for the past 5 years providing counseling to juveniles who are sexual offenders and their victims, individuals with severe mental health issues, families, children, adolescents, and adults. The counseling relationship is very important to her and she sees her role in that relationship as a mentor or a coach. She enjoys watching clients learn and grow and finds laughter to be a helpful process in therapy. In her spare time, Krista likes to spend time with her family and friends, ride horses and exercise .

    Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh, while serving as a peer educator for both Health Services and the University Counseling Center. Lauren is a Certified Health Education Specialist and, also, has a Master of Public Health from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.  Lauren has served as a Health Educator for University Health Services since 2013. She focuses on student wellness programming and educational initiatives at Boise State University.  Her favorite aspect of her job is working with students to ensure they have a healthful experience at Boise State University. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Lauren’s extracurricular activities include exploring the Pacific Northwest (particularly Idaho), recreational cycling, and volunteering.

    MarLee graduated from Utah State University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition where she also worked as the Campus Dietitian and lived by the motto “Never trust a dietitian who doesn’t like ice cream.” She was recognized as the Young Dietitian of the Year in 2013 by the Idaho Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.  As the University Health Services Dietitian since 2015, a registered dietitian nutritionist for over nine years, and a human since birth, MarLee enjoys talking about and eating good food. MarLee works with clients of all ages, turning nutrition and behavior change research into practical tips for a balanced lifestyle. Look for her around campus sharing nourishing and delicious ways to live well. MarLee appreciates combining science and creativity to make food work for you. In her free time she enjoys baking, playing tennis, hosting dinner parties, reading, and spending time outside.

    Mark earned his Associate of Occupational Studies in Medical Specialties degree in 2010 at Stevens-Henager College in Boise, Idaho. Mark joined the Health Services staff as a Customer Service Representative in 2013. He has had over 18 years of customer service experience throughout his career. Prior to joining Health Services, Mark worked as a Medical Assistant and Patient Service Representative with Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. Mark strives to help others and makes sure that he provides the best customer service to the students, faculty, and staff of Boise State University.     Mary obtained her Certificate of Applied Science in Nursing at Eastern Idaho Vocational Technical School in Idaho Falls (now known at Eastern Idaho Technical College) in 1984.  She has worked in hospitals, hospice, pediatric clinics, home health, long term care, as well as the Idaho State School & Hospital in Nampa. In 2003 Mary found her calling here at University Health Services. Her favorite aspect of the job is being able to welcome the diversity of the student, faculty and staff on campus and the learning environment. In her free time, Mary enjoys traveling, gardening and being outdoors.

    Maya received her Master’s degree in Nursing with Family Practice emphasis, from Idaho State University. She has over 20 years of previous experience as a Registered Nurse in telemetry and Emergency Medicine. She then became certified through AANP (American Association of Nurse Practitioners) as a Nurse Practitioner in 2013 and joined University Health Services.  Maya enjoys working with the patients at University Health Services as clinician and as an educator, to help them learn and apply the tools for health and well-being. In her free time, she enjoys time with her family, in the mountains, on the rivers and in the garden.

    Michelle received her doctorate in Kinesiology from Iowa State University with an emphasis in health promotion. She received her Master's degree from the University of Louisville in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in cardiac rehabilitation, and her Bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville in Sport Administration.  Michelle has experience working in many different work-site wellness programs and she was also a professor in the Kinesiology Department at Iowa State University. As the Director of Wellness, Michelle has the opportunity to work with both students and employees on maintaining and/or improving their overall well-being. A big focus of her job is the BroncoFit wellness initiative, which targets the dimensions of wellness including: physical, emotional, social, financial, environmental, spiritual, and professional/intellectual.  Through BroncoFit, Michelle hopes to change the overall culture and environment at Boise State University to make healthy lifestyle choices the easy and preferred choice. Her favorite aspect of the job is seeing people make simple changes that have a huge positive impact on their lives. Michelle is passionate about being outdoors and enjoys activities that get her outside to enjoy this beautiful state in which we all live; such as trail running, alpine/nordic skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and camping.

    Mike earned his doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Practice with a cognate area in Multicultural Counseling from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD. He earned his Master of Science in Education degree in Counseling and Guidance with cognate area in Community Counseling from Northern State University, Aberdeen, SD. Mike has counseling work experience in a variety of settings, including adolescent youth placement facilities, college/university counseling centers, private-practice community mental health counseling, out-patient treatment for DUI Court referrals, and out-patient treatment for opiate addicted patients. He also logged seven years as a counselor educator with the Boise State University Department of Counselor Education. Mike has worked toward becoming an effective general mental health practitioner while emphasizing the roles played by culture, addiction, and trauma in the lives of the people who seek him out. His counseling approach is humanistic/systemic with a focus on intentionality in the process of counseling to facilitate change. He works to emphasize empowerment/encouragement of the client through the therapeutic relationship and alliance, the development of client self and social awareness, and client self-healing capacity. Mike has also been known to use storytelling, art, and music in therapy. Mike enjoys playing the guitar and ukulele in his spare time, and volunteering with various Native American programs in the Boise area.

    Dr. Wolfe graduated with high honors with a bachelor's degree in microbiology from the University of Montana in 1998. She then went on to complete her medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. She joined the Montana Family Medicine Residency program in Billings, MT, where she completed her residency training and served as Chief Resident. Dr. Wolfe then joined the United States Air Force, where she served as an active duty physician at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, MT. After leaving active duty, she then joined a multispecialty clinic in Missoula, MT, where she practiced for five years.  Dr. Wolfe joined University Health Services in September of 2013 where her interests include general and procedural medicine, including skin biopsies and lesion removal, toenail removals, and IUD (intrauterine device) placement. In her free time, Dr. Wolfe enjoys spending time with her family and traveling, as well as participating in and watching a variety of different sports.

    Ryann was born and raised in California. She moved to Idaho to attend the College of Idaho, where she played soccer and received a degree in Psychology in 2008. Ryann worked as a state certified behavioral therapist for children and adolescents in Idaho for several years before moving to Portland, Oregon. In Portland she worked at an international donation agency and made eligibility determinations for eye and tissue donation. Ryann enjoys health and medicine and is preparing for Physician Assistant school in the future.  She joined University Health Services in 2013, and enjoys interacting with students and faculty while assisting them with scheduling and checking in for appointments. When not at work she can be found in the classroom or in the foothills. She loves biking, running, traveling and seeing family and friends.

Susan is a member of AAPC- American Academy of Professional Coders. Susan has over 10 years of experience in the medical billing industry performing everything from supervision of a team, charge entry, deposit entry, submission of insurance claims, chart auditing, accounts receivable, and patient collections. Susan’s current position with Boise State University Health Services is; submission of Insurance claims, review of insurance payments for correct reimbursement, liaison between the patient, University Health Center, and Insurance companies, and claims follow up for unpaid or under paid claims. Susan’s favorite aspect of the job is advising and educating the patient in the process to become advocates of their own personal health.

Tara also serves as the HIPAA Privacy Officer overseeing compliance with HIPAA and several other regulatory and compliance areas. Tara earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business from Boise State. Tara joined Health Services in the fall of 2011.  Prior to coming to Boise State, Tara worked at a local hospital for 11 years. Tara has a diverse background in managing healthcare operations with experience in both the hospital and outpatient settings. In her spare time, Tara enjoys traveling and cheering on the Broncos.

    Tanna is a Certified Licensed Massage Therapist (CMLT) and is licensed in Idaho to do all modalities of massage work. She graduated from Apollo College in May of 2010 and has worked at Health Services since August of 2010. Tanna believes that trust and care are very important in a patient relationship. Her role as a clinician is to alleviate pain and discomfort. Tanna’s favorite part of her job is hearing a patient say, "Oh I feel so much better". Outside of work she enjoys fishing, camping and working outside.

    Trisha graduated from the University of Utah with her Master of Social Work in May of 2006 while previously attending Southern Utah University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in May of 2003. Prior to coming to University Health Services Trisha worked in Southern Utah with adolescent sex offenders and their victims. Additionally, she worked with youth in foster care to help them in reunification with their family and/or adoption into their forever families. She also has experience working with adolescents who struggled with addiction in a residential treatment program. Trisha enjoys working with a wide variety of mental health struggles ranging from depression, anxiety, addiction, victims of sexual abuse, etc. She joined University Health Services in 2010 and works within a generalist approach, but tends to use Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic techniques in her work with clients. Her favorite part about working at University Health Services is the balance that she gets to have in helping students, faculty, staff, and their dependents work through their change process, and assisting in the daily operations of the clinic. In her free time, Trisha enjoys traveling and discovering different activities that Idaho has to offer.

    Verla became a Registered Medical Assistant through American Medical Technologists (AMT) in 2004.  Verla joined University Health Services in 2005 and assists the medical providers with various procedures, taking vitals, drawing blood and keeping patient appointments moving smoothly.  She absolutely loves working with the students, faculty and staff on campus.  Verla likes to think of herself as a second mom to students who are living away from home. Working with the various students, faculty and staff on campus has helped her become more open-minded and accepting.  In her free time, Verla enjoys working in her yard every spring and summer, as well as practicing her banjo (and hopes to perfect her craft well enough that someone will be able to recognize what tune she's playing).

Before working at Health Services in 2013, Barron served as a graduate assistant with the Center for the Study of Aging. Barron helped compile data and format the Idaho Alzheimer’s Planning Group's (IAPG) first draft of Idaho's state plan for Alzheimer's disease. Barron is responsible for maintaining patient/client medical records, assisting with customer service and other various projects. He enjoys working in a facility which promotes the well-being of every individual. Barron likes staying active at the gym and visiting with friends at his favorite coffee shops.

Christy joined University Health Services in the fall of 2015, and her job includes scheduling patient appointments, checking patients’ in and out of their appointment and handling patient phone calls. Her favorite aspect of the job is interacting with all the patients that visit University Health Services.     As part of the leadership team, Julia oversees the clinical flow, processes, and day-to-day operations.  She also oversees Health Services’ regulatory and compliance requirements, and takes the lead on Quality Assurance activities. Julia has a unique background in both nursing and business management. She was the director of a large in-patient cardiac unit in one of Boise’s large health systems.  She also worked as the Practice Administrator of a multi-site nephrology practice for a number of years and managed all aspects of the business and clinical care. Julia is interested in providing each patient with individualized care that meets their own needs.  She believes that Health Services is in a unique position to not only give that level of care, but to also teach the patients about life-long health. Julia has lived in Idaho most of her life and loves the four seasons.  She gravitates to outside activities with her family and friends like running, hiking, and gardening.

Penny has over 12 years of previous experience in mental health nursing working as a RN at a local hospital. Her practice philosophy is to build partnerships with her patients through advocacy, leadership and holistic medicine. She believes in providing healthcare that will help patients reach their desired health goals and enable healing. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors by horseback riding, boating with her family and skiing the local resorts.

    Dr. Wilkinson specializes in Family Medicine. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine. She received her doctor of medicine from the University of California, San Diego. She completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho, where she now serves as the fellowship Director. Dr. Wilkinson runs the sports medicine clinic at Health Services where she treats orthopedic injuries and sports-related medical conditions.

    As Licensed Massage Therapist, Jennifer joined the University Health Services team in Spring of 2016. She specializes in deep tissue, trigger point therapy, acupressure and aromatherapy for pain relief. Jennifer has over 15 years of experience in providing massage therapy. Jennifer's favorite aspect of her job is to provide clients with educational tips that promote health and well being that can be incorporated into their daily routines.  Her personal mantra would definitely be, love life and it will love you back!

    Dr. Jones obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. Her psychiatry residency was completed at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. In Idaho, she has worked in a wide variety of clinical and educational settings. Dr. Jones joined Health Services as a part time employee in February of 2015, then making the transition to full time in September of 2015. Her professional interests include primary care psychiatry, women’s mental health issues, combining psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy and student health. She believes establishing and nurturing the doctor /patient alliance is vital to providing effective medical care. Dr. Jones works with students and employees to establish obtainable treatment goals. Helping students and employees achieve their best selves is an especially rewarding part of her job. She appreciates the natural beauty of Idaho and the infectious enthusiasm of Bronco football fans.

She recently moved to Idaho and was lucky enough to obtain a nursing position with Boise State University in Spring of 2016. Julee feels every day is rewarding when you work in health care.  Her favorite aspect of the job is the rewarding feeling she gets when patients come to University Health Services to receive care. She feels it’s a lot of fun to be involved in the lives of the students, faculty and staff at Boise State.  Outside of work Julee enjoys yoga, any outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.

After leaving active duty, she then joined a multispecialty clinic in Missoula, MT, where she practiced for five years.  Dr. Wolfe joined University Health Services in September of 2013 where her interests include general and procedural medicine, including skin biopsies and lesion removal, toenail removals, and IUD (intrauterine device) placement. In her free time, Dr. Wolfe enjoys spending time with her family and traveling, as well as participating in and watching a variety of different sports.

    Tanna is a Certified Licensed Massage Therapist (CMLT) and is licensed in Idaho to do all modalities of massage work. She graduated from Apollo College in May of 2010 and has worked at Health Services since August of 2010. Tanna believes that trust and care are very important in a patient relationship. Her role as a clinician is to alleviate pain and discomfort. Tanna’s favorite part of her job is hearing a patient say, "Oh I feel so much better". Outside of work she enjoys fishing, camping and working outside.

    Verla became a Registered Medical Assistant through American Medical Technologists (AMT) in 2004.  Verla joined University Health Services in 2005 and assists the medical providers with various procedures, taking vitals, drawing blood and keeping patient appointments moving smoothly.  She absolutely loves working with the students, faculty and staff on campus.  Verla likes to think of herself as a second mom to students who are living away from home. Working with the various students, faculty and staff on campus has helped her become more open-minded and accepting.  In her free time, Verla enjoys working in her yard every spring and summer, as well as practicing her banjo (and hopes to perfect her craft well enough that someone will be able to recognize what tune she's playing).

Holly joined University Health Services in 2013, and focuses mainly on coordinating both the employee wellness program and the Peer Health Education program. She enjoys creating opportunities on campus for people to engage in their own health and well being. In her free time, Holly loves to walk her dog, hike new trails, bake, and spend time with her family and friends.

    Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh, while serving as a peer educator for both Health Services and the University Counseling Center. Lauren is a Certified Health Education Specialist and, also, has a Master of Public Health from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.  Lauren has served as a Health Educator for University Health Services since 2013. She focuses on student wellness programming and educational initiatives at Boise State University.  Her favorite aspect of her job is working with students to ensure they have a healthful experience at Boise State University. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Lauren’s extracurricular activities include exploring the Pacific Northwest (particularly Idaho), recreational cycling, and volunteering.

    MarLee graduated from Utah State University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition where she also worked as the Campus Dietitian and lived by the motto “Never trust a dietitian who doesn’t like ice cream.” She was recognized as the Young Dietitian of the Year in 2013 by the Idaho Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.  As the University Health Services Dietitian since 2015, a registered dietitian nutritionist for over nine years, and a human since birth, MarLee enjoys talking about and eating good food. MarLee works with clients of all ages, turning nutrition and behavior change research into practical tips for a balanced lifestyle. Look for her around campus sharing nourishing and delicious ways to live well. MarLee appreciates combining science and creativity to make food work for you. In her free time she enjoys baking, playing tennis, hosting dinner parties, reading, and spending time outside.

    Michelle received her doctorate in Kinesiology from Iowa State University with an emphasis in health promotion. She received her Master's degree from the University of Louisville in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in cardiac rehabilitation, and her Bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville in Sport Administration.  Michelle has experience working in many different work-site wellness programs and she was also a professor in the Kinesiology Department at Iowa State University. As the Director of Wellness, Michelle has the opportunity to work with both students and employees on maintaining and/or improving their overall well-being. A big focus of her job is the BroncoFit wellness initiative, which targets the dimensions of wellness including: physical, emotional, social, financial, environmental, spiritual, and professional/intellectual.  Through BroncoFit, Michelle hopes to change the overall culture and environment at Boise State University to make healthy lifestyle choices the easy and preferred choice. Her favorite aspect of the job is seeing people make simple changes that have a huge positive impact on their lives. Michelle is passionate about being outdoors and enjoys activities that get her outside to enjoy this beautiful state in which we all live; such as trail running, alpine/nordic skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and camping.

As part of her graduate work she completed an internship in Health Psychology with Henry Ford Hospital, in Detroit, Michigan. She believes that therapy is an opportunity for individuals to learn and apply a variety of tools to help manage major stressors as well as day to day events. Alison sees herself as a coach or mentor, working with clients to fine tune the skills they need to make their world a place where they are able to feel comfortable. She spends her free time with family, friends, and enjoys volunteering in the community.

    Benjamin received his masters in social work from the University of Pittsburgh and  is a licensed social worker in the state of Idaho. During his education he specialized in mental health and worked with individuals suffering from severe and persistent mental illness. In addition, he worked at a university counseling center in Pittsburgh. Benjamin is passionate about working with the collegiate population and supporting people during this exciting, yet sometimes overwhelming period in their lives. He takes a person centered approach to working with clients and aims to meet them where they are at. His favorite part of the job is empowering clients to bring about positive change in their lives and also getting to know individuals from all walks of life. Outside of work he likes to hike in the summer and snowboard in the winter.

B.J. has worked at both community and large state based agencies prior to joining University Health Services.  B.J. has experience providing high quality individual and focused group therapy for a broad range of mental health issues to include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, severe and persistent mental illness, mood management, self-esteem, and co-occurring disorders.  B.J. works from an existential and client-centered approach in order to create a therapeutic environment that promotes healing and also fosters emotional resiliency and strength.  When not working, B.J. enjoys spending time with his family and mountain biking.

    Matt Niece is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) and a state registered supervisor. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Boise State University, and both a masters of mental health counseling and a doctorate in counselor education and counseling from Idaho State University. Prior to re-joining the team here at University Health Services, Dr. Niece served the communities of Boise, Meridian, and Nampa through work at various counseling agencies. Dr. Niece also maintains a private practice in Boise, and has been adjunct for Boise State University, College of Idaho, College of Western Idaho, and currently with Idaho State University at the undergraduate and masters level. His clinical interests include working with students, faculty and staff who struggle with anxiety and depressive issues especially in regards to relationships and major life transitions, counseling student-athletes, self-worth, LGBT+ issues, and group therapy. Professionally he is driven to advocate for all clients, the counseling profession and the efficacy of integrated health services. Outside of work one might find him taking advantage of the endless outdoor activities that the Boise valley has to offer, wood working, or traveling with his friends and family.

She has experience working in residential treatment and transitional living programs. She has worked with individuals suffering from disorders such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating disorders and substance abuse. Natalie has previously worked with the Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline as an intern, where she focused on crisis intervention. She enjoys being a part of individual recovery and finds value in the resilience of the human spirit. When not working or engaging in school work, Natalie enjoys hiking, climbing, skiing and being in the outdoors.

    Kinsey earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Gerontology from the University of Montana in 2014. During that time she completed a social services internship in a residential skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, and volunteered as a hospice bereavement assistant. Kinsey then went on to research for a non-profit agency in Montana and evaluate programs regarding adolescent and young adult substance use. She is currently completing her Master of Social Work at Boise State University and will graduate in spring of 2018. Kinsey has experience working with individuals across the lifespan, and most recently interned as a case manager with an outpatient mental health clinic with a focus on severe and persistent mental health concerns and crisis intervention. She enjoys working with clients to achieve their goals and encourage positive change. In her spare time Kinsey enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and visiting with her friends and family.

    Anna is currently enrolled in Idaho State University’s Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in Meridian, ID.  Previously, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Experimental Psychology from Central Washington University in 2012 and 2014, respectively.   As a graduate student, she conducted research pertaining to veterans on college campuses, as well as college students’ perceptions of veterans and PTSD on campus.  This research ignited an interest in mental health counseling, where she felt she could have more of a direct impact in the field.  As a counseling trainee, Anna has primarily worked with college students exhibiting a wide range of symptoms and believes that through counseling, clients are able to facilitate meaningful change in their lives.  In her free time, Anna loves traveling, exploring new places and spending time with family and friends.

During her education, she worked with the Veteran population through her internships at Idaho State Veteran’s Home and the Boise VA Medical Center. She enjoys working with a range of mental health struggles including; anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use, and persistent/severe mental illness.     Kalin is currently completing her final year in the Masters of Mental Health Counseling program at Idaho State University – Meridian. She is expected to earn this degree in May of 2018. Kalin earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a minor in Addiction Studies at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, ID in 2015. Throughout her undergraduate and graduate careers, she has been given the opportunity to intern at many different counseling facilities/agencies throughout Idaho. These experiences have allowed her to grow in her interest and skills surrounding mental health and have only encouraged an increased passion for the counseling field. Kalin is passionate about the importance of self-care and providing balance in life. For her own self-care, Kalin spends her down time with family and friends.     Krista earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Idaho in Recreation and Tourism Management and her Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University in 2008. She then joined the Health Services team here at Boise State in January of 2013. Krista has worked with diverse populations both in the private sector and in the criminal justice system. She has worked in the mental health field for the past 5 years providing counseling to juveniles who are sexual offenders and their victims, individuals with severe mental health issues, families, children, adolescents, and adults. The counseling relationship is very important to her and she sees her role in that relationship as a mentor or a coach. She enjoys watching clients learn and grow and finds laughter to be a helpful process in therapy. In her spare time, Krista likes to spend time with her family and friends, ride horses and exercise .

    Mike earned his doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Practice with a cognate area in Multicultural Counseling from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD. He earned his Master of Science in Education degree in Counseling and Guidance with cognate area in Community Counseling from Northern State University, Aberdeen, SD. Mike has counseling work experience in a variety of settings, including adolescent youth placement facilities, college/university counseling centers, private-practice community mental health counseling, out-patient treatment for DUI Court referrals, and out-patient treatment for opiate addicted patients. He also logged seven years as a counselor educator with the Boise State University Department of Counselor Education. Mike has worked toward becoming an effective general mental health practitioner while emphasizing the roles played by culture, addiction, and trauma in the lives of the people who seek him out. His counseling approach is humanistic/systemic with a focus on intentionality in the process of counseling to facilitate change. He works to emphasize empowerment/encouragement of the client through the therapeutic relationship and alliance, the development of client self and social awareness, and client self-healing capacity. Mike has also been known to use storytelling, art, and music in therapy. Mike enjoys playing the guitar and ukulele in his spare time, and volunteering with various Native American programs in the Boise area.

    Trisha graduated from the University of Utah with her Master of Social Work in May of 2006 while previously attending Southern Utah University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in May of 2003. Prior to coming to University Health Services Trisha worked in Southern Utah with adolescent sex offenders and their victims. Additionally, she worked with youth in foster care to help them in reunification with their family and/or adoption into their forever families. She also has experience working with adolescents who struggled with addiction in a residential treatment program. Trisha enjoys working with a wide variety of mental health struggles ranging from depression, anxiety, addiction, victims of sexual abuse, etc. She joined University Health Services in 2010 and works within a generalist approach, but tends to use Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic techniques in her work with clients. Her favorite part about working at University Health Services is the balance that she gets to have in helping students, faculty, staff, and their dependents work through their change process, and assisting in the daily operations of the clinic. In her free time, Trisha enjoys traveling and discovering different activities that Idaho has to offer.

She has over 40 years  of experience working in the accounting field.  Prior to joining University Health Services, Diana worked in various industries including retail, small-medium businesses and the construction industry.  Diana manages the accounting processes for University Health Services, assists with the processing of Insurance Payments, and assists the Business Manager with various projects.  Diana enjoys solving the daily account puzzles that arise, working with her fantastic co-workers as well as visiting with students.  In her spare time, Diana enjoys watercolor painting, scrap booking, sewing, crafts, reading and fishing.

    Susan is a Certified Family Practice Coder, CFPC. Susan holds a certification in Family Practice Coding, and a certificate in ICD-10 diagnostic coding. Susan is a member of AAPC- American Academy of Professional Coders. Susan has over 10 years of experience in the medical billing industry performing everything from supervision of a team, charge entry, deposit entry, submission of insurance claims, chart auditing, accounts receivable, and patient collections. Susan’s current position with Boise State University Health Services is; submission of Insurance claims, review of insurance payments for correct reimbursement, liaison between the patient, University Health Center, and Insurance companies, and claims follow up for unpaid or under paid claims. Susan’s favorite aspect of the job is advising and educating the patient in the process to become advocates of their own personal health.
